Market pricing answers a broader question. It looks at what buyers across the market value, how competing offers are priced and where there may be room to charge differently.

Published price lists rarely tell the whole story. Discounts, negotiated contracts, bundled services and differences in scope can create a large gap between the advertised price and what customers actually pay.

We begin by building a clear view of the market. This includes competitor pricing, available market data, industry benchmarks and evidence gathered directly from buyers. No single source provides the answer, so we compare and test the evidence to understand where prices genuinely sit.

We then explore what buyers value and how that differs across the market.

Some customers may place the greatest value on product performance or reliability. Others may care more about speed, technical support, reduced risk or the ability to integrate with existing equipment and processes. Features that one group will pay more for may simply be expected as standard by another.

That matters because a single market average can hide very different pricing opportunities.

Primary research helps us identify those differences. Through structured conversations and pricing research with customers, prospects and buyers beyond your existing base, we examine willingness to pay, the alternatives buyers consider and the reasons one offer commands a premium while another does not.

The research may show that part of the market is being underserved. It may reveal a group willing to pay more for something competitors have treated as an optional extra. It may also show that the business is trying to compete on features buyers do not value enough to fund.

The result is a pricing strategy grounded in the market as it exists today. It sets out the most credible price position, the buyer segments that support it and the value that needs to be communicated for that price to hold.

It can also be used to assess the commercial impact of different pricing choices, including the effect on demand, revenue and the customers the business is most likely to win.

The aim is not simply to produce a higher number. It is to understand where the business can charge more, where it cannot and what buyers need to value for the strategy to work.

Customer pricing tells you what your own customers are willing to pay.
